Meet the Waugh family, our source for locally grown beef.
While touring the pastures at Cannon Valley Ranch you would hear the rustle of
green grass below your feet and birds in the sky while cattle peacefully graze on
open pastures under the blue sky. It’s Bruce, LeeAnn, Aaron and Taylor Waugh’s
passion to care for their land and cattle in the best way possible. Their mission is
two-fold: first is to manage their land in a way that regenerates the soil and leaves
the land in better condition for future generations. Second is to produce the finest
quality beef you can find. It is these values that make them a perfect partner for us
here at Forager Brewery.

Cannon Valley Ranch was started in 1984 when Bruce and LeeAnn married and
moved from their family farms in Wisconsin to Minnesota and started their own
ranch. Their two sons are actively involved in the ranch. Taylor cares for the cattle
and Aaron assists with sales and marketing of the beef.
Over the years the family has grown the ranch which is grazed by their herd of 150 Angus and Akaushi (Wagyu) cows. Through management they have regenerated their soil resulting in nutrient dense forages. These forages are combined with balanced nutrition (including grain) to ensure nutritional requirements are met to
produce well-marbled, mouth-watering beef.

The Cannon Valley Ranch herd has been developed through decades of genetic
improvement by selective breeding for high quality meat that is tender, juicy and
flavorful. The cattle are raised in a low stress, comfortable environment. Happy cows
produce great tasting beef.
We love supporting local family farms who support us with their high quality meat.
Thank you to the Waugh family for all you do!
